The air may have been chilly, the water 🌊may have been icy but the spirits were warm ☀️and friendly at Eastern Shore of Virginia Habitat 🏡 for Humanity’s 2020 “Freezin for A Reason” benefit. A large crowd of supporters on shore watched as Celebrity Dippers Todd Burbage and Jamie Mahoney led the charge into the Bay from the Cape Charles beach 🏖. Ranging from young to old, the Dippers were an enthusiastic group, splashing 💦 into the water with abandon…. and racing back out with alacrity ! Kiptopeake Elementary School fielded a sizable team – Go, Kippers, go ! Members of the Cape Charles Coast Guard were on hand both as Dippers and to provide rescue help if needed and a Coast Guard cutter⚓️ patrolled off-shore throughout the event. Afterwards, lunch 😋and awards 🥇for the Dippers, a nice treat for lending a hand ( also their cold blue 🔹 toes ) for Habitat’s very important cause- helping to provide safe, affordable housing 🏡 here on the Shore.
